Life Events such as baptism, weddings and funerals are important milestones in a person/family’s journey through life. Christ Church is a most welcoming and friendly Anglican parish community, ready to embrace newcomers at any stage.

Please contact the Parish Office regarding Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals.

Baptisms

We are always delighted to welcome new members into the household of God – the Parish family here at Christ Church St. Lucia.

To seek Baptism for either yourself or for your child you are expressing a desire to belong to the community of God’s people.

Baptism is usually carried out in the context of the Sunday morning Eucharist so that the Parish family can welcome the newcomer into the faith and life of the Parish.
Prior to Baptism you will need to organise godparents and/or sponsors. Godparents of children have a great responsibility; they must have been baptised themselves and during the service they profess their own faith and make a promise that the child will be brought up as a Christian and that they will share their faith with the child and support that child in their faith journey.

Weddings

Christ Church set in the leafy suburb of St. Lucia is an idyllic venue for weddings.

The Church building is filled with natural light and the surrounding grounds are wonderful for taking photographs to remember the occasion.

Funerals

Christ Church St. Lucia provides a dignified setting to honour the life of loved ones who have died. The semi-circular drive gives easy access to the entrance of the Church away from traffic areas. We can support you at this time by providing a respectful service of thanksgiving and farewell.

We are able to arrange for floral arrangements, musical arrangements and catering of refreshments after the service.

We can also provide a final resting place in the Columbarium quietly located underneath the Church. Single and double Niches are available.

Please phone the Parish Office if you are interested in purchasing a niche and would like a service of repose for the ashes of a loved one.
